Sourcing these ceramic fragments in the depths of South Africa was an anomaly. I hadn't expected to find Victorian and Art Deco shards in the gravel roads in Port Arthur - a learning experience.
Sculpture is a dance with discovery. My work, taken from life is extended through personal and historical references.Using the human form to create narratives or abstracts exploration of material, movement and a dialogue with space are paramount.
I enjoy teaching, commission work and extending ideas though installations and more conceptual themes.
My work has been exhibited in The Netherlands, The United States and Great Britain.
Most recently it has been published in 500 Figures in Clay - 2nd edition
